Ryssland Kola Peninsula.
Deep frozen landscape as from mid Sweden temperatures down do – 37 celcius. Did not even think about skiing in Finnish Lapland and instead continued to Murmansk followed by staying over New Year at Kirvosk, southern part Kola Peninusla. The Khibiny mountains offered pleasant down hill skiing. No sun – 24 hours a day complete darkness. Performed by: Spencer Holms & Co. & Transport: Toyota FJ Cruiser LVE
Plenty offroading under snowy and chilly conditions performed by three groups/cars covering also Finland and Estonia.
Photo shows a ferry station Russian North Karelia. Offroading in wet Lapland woods in both countries crossing Kola peninsula from north and down south through Russian Karelia.
Photo shows the desolate landscape along the Caspian Sea when headed south from Atrakhan, and of course Carl-William and Malcolm.
The theme for this trip was old Soviet military installations as well as new ones in the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad (ex Königsberg).
Rough off-road driving in all kinds of mostly difficult weather conditions, including heavy snow falls, all over the central and south parts of the peninsula including very high speed driving on the south east sandy shores along the White Sea. Photo shows us attempting to enter a pass in Khibiny mountains. We failed.
